What We Have Learned From You

As we slowly ease into life after COVID, I would like to review a few of the themes that came up in our recent survey of you, our Preventous members.

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who took the time to respond to the survey. I want you to know that I have read each response and shared them with our leadership team. We will present them to our entire staff in the near future. Each response is important to me and I take them all quite personally. We appreciate everyone’s honesty and value the feedback.

Overall respondents were quite satisfied with the services they receive from the team at Preventous. We strive to ensure that each and every person who visits, calls, or emails us has a positive experience. We aim to be the best part of your day, even at times of illness!

Suggestions for areas where members would like to see enhanced, or improved services ranged from mental health to parking, to greater access to their Preventous providers.

Some of you who have been with us from the “early days”, 2007-2010 may recall that we had an onsite psychologist. We always envisioned mental wellness as a cornerstone of the Preventous approach. The challenge we eventually faced was that one psychologist could not serve the needs of a diverse patient population. That led to outsourcing mental health services. After receiving the comments around a desire to have in-house mental wellness services, we have begun to explore how that could look in our current situation and to consider another trial of perhaps an individual whose training may better lend itself to serving the needs of a range of individuals.

Parking has become more of a challenge over the years for various reasons. One step we have taken to address the need is to secure parking in the convenience store parking lot directly east of Preventous.

Ultimately the solution to the parking issue and several of the other suggestions we received may be a larger facility with significantly improved parking availability. This is also an option that we are considering. That being said, we are fond of having our own free-standing building and know that you enjoy the central location. We may come back to you in the not-too-distant future for your feedback, specifically on the location of a new, or second location.

To address requests for greater accessibility to your Preventous providers, we have added two bright, keen and kind physicians and have started offering Saturday appointments. We will continue to increase availability to meet demand.

It is important to us that we always progress and embrace advances in medicine and technology. That said, the human touch will always be the most important part of health care.

We have done our best to continue providing excellent service throughout the past 16 months. It has not been without challenges. I am very proud of the commitment and professionalism that every one of our team members has demonstrated over this time period. It has been stressful both at work and at home, for all of us, as for all of you.

We value you and we value your feedback. Please contact us if you have anything to add, and enjoy the video I shot with our Preventous team talking about our vision, mission, and how we are committed to keeping helping you:
