The kids are back in school, and we at Preventous want to share our top tips to keep your kids healthy this school year:
– Ensure your kids are getting enough sleep. A lack of sleep is a major contributor to behavioural, school performance and mental health problems in children. Kids aged 6-13 need about 9-11 hours of sleep, while those aged 13-17 need 8-10 hours. Set your kids up with a good bedtime routine – no electronic devices for at least 1 hour before bedtime and maintain a consistent bedtime throughout the week.
– Bring your kids in to the clinic at least once a year for a check-up. We can assess their vision and growth and discuss any concerns you have about your child’s mental health and school performance.
– Our dietician can see both children and adults, ensuring healthy eating habits for the whole family. Our athletic therapist is available to help children recover from injuries, including head trauma. These services are a part of your Preventous membership and can be booked directly through our reception.
– Ensure your kids are up to date on their vaccinations, including routine childhood vaccines and the COVID-19 vaccine if they are aged 12 and up. We believe one of the best ways to protect your child and others around them from illness is to ensure they are fully vaccinated. We are always available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about vaccination, including the COVID-19 vaccine.
